Hand-developed under natural sunlight using the traditional cyanotype process

Cyanotype is one of the oldest and most prestigious photographic printing techniques, creating stunning blueprints using sunlight. 

This technique begins with coating high-quality fabrics or papers with a light-sensitive emulsion. The surface is then exposed to sunlight, where the uncovered areas undergo a chemical reaction and develop their characteristic blue tones. Finally, the print is rinsed with water and stabilized to ensure its durability. 

Each piece is entirely handcrafted, making it unique. This transforms cyanotype prints into more than just clothing, they become wearable works of art.

Composition & Wash Care

 

  • Material: 95% cotton, 5% spandex 
  • Phosphate-Free and Sodium-Free Detergent: To preserve the colors of the print and make an environmentally friendly choice, it is recommended to use detergents that are free of phosphate and sodium. 
  • Hand Washing Preference: Hand washing is ideal for delicate or special fabrics. However, if machine washing is preferred, select a gentle cycle with low spin settings. 
  • Temperature Setting: Follow the temperature settings indicated on the garment label to maintain the fabric's longevity. Cold water is generally recommended, as hot water may cause the colors to fade. 
  • Wash Inside-Out: Turn the garment inside out before washing to protect the prints and minimize fabric wear. 
  • Drying Method: Avoid exposing garments to direct sunlight or high temperatures while drying. Instead, dry them in the shade or at a low temperature. Never leave them damp for extended periods. 
  • Ironing: If ironing is necessary, use a low-temperature setting and iron the garment inside out to protect the print from direct heat exposure. 
  • Avoid Chemical Contact: Avoid contact with bleach or similar chemical substances, as these can bleach the colors of the prints.
  • Perfume, Deodorant, and Sweat Warning: Do not spray perfume or deodorant directly onto the fabric, as these substances can damage or discolor the print. Additionally, prolonged exposure to excessive perspiration or chemical-based products may lead to fading or bleaching of the colors.
